Microsoft & AOL Loose - Ask, Yahoo! and Google Make Market Share Gains

Nielsen released its report on market share for the month of September (2006), and the news isn't particularly good for Microsoft or AOL.  ZDNet.com reported on Nielsen's latest numbers in which Microsoft fell 12% in market share in September.  AOL wasn't far behind them with over an 8% drop. 

Big winners - Google with 24% growth, Yahoo! with 12% and Ask.com is just steam rolling along with a 19% increase.  The only down point to Ask's number is that the iWon property owned by Ask, has a 24% decline in market share in September, however at less than 1% of the market share the increase from Ask's increase more than makes up that loss.
