Bill Marriott Continues To Impress
I've got a lot of blog on my list of reads, one that's become a fast "must read" is Bill Marriott's Marriott on the Move blog. From announcing the birth of a granddaughter, to letting readers know of new innovations being integrated into their hotels and also sharing success stories of employees, I find myself looking forward to each new post.
The blog has also done something else, it's made me look to Marriott first when I'm looking for a hotel. When I found out that the SES NYC hotel the conference was in was sold out (Hilton Towers), I first went to Marriott's site, if that hotel hadn't been such a hike, I would have stayed there. Unfortunately, it was a haul between the hotels and Greg and I had to book in the Sheraton across the street. But the point is, my choice has changed, it's solidified, I first went with Marriott as my choice.
Going forward, I'm going to look for Marriott's to book at as well. With all the neat innovations the hotel is incorporating, it is going to be so much easier to stay in their hotels. By the end of 2009, all full service Marriott hotels are going to have HDTV which will allow users to plug in their laptops and work with that as its screen. Connectivity for iPods is also being integrated too. How do I know this? Bill Marriott told me so, I even heard him say it.
I know I've mentioned this blog before, but if you're interested in corporate bloggers in any way, you need to be reading Bill Marriott's. If you're a corporation considering a CEO blog, again, look to Marriott on the Move as an excellent example of a great blog. Heck the guy even jokes around, letting us think Snoop Dogg is on his iPod playlist - I like this guy!
