Li Evans:
Hi I'm Li Evans of Search Marketing Gurus and KeyRelevance and I'm here at Blog Potomac in Falls Church, Va and I'm here with Geoff Livingston of Livingston Communications.
Geoff Livingston:
How are You?
Li Evans:
I'm doing great. I love this event, its awesome.
Geoff Livingston:
Yeah, it's pretty hot, isn't it?
Li Evans:
Yes, so tell me what prompted you to start Blog Potomac?<
Geoff Livingston:
Well I really felt the area needed a true social media marketing event. Currently we really don't have that, we have lot of little pooled events and we don't really have a unified community. This gave us an opportunity to get together and do so in a way that would not only be everybody but also bring in some really strong social media marketing minds and help these people get more information and maybe get beyond just a simple blog.
Li Evans:
That's great and there's a lot of different people here. You see Lionel from Dell who we just interviewed, and we've got Debbie and we've got Josh from Orlando. You've got a great big audience here to share information with the different bloggers.
What do you think the feedback is about the event so far?
Geoff Livingston:
Everybody seems to be enjoying it, everybody seems to be getting a lot out of it. Of course we'll see next week when we put the forms up. But I feel like in general people are surprised by it and at the same time surprised by it.
Li Evans:
That's great!
As well as being a prolific blogger, who I read and really enjoy, you also have a book. Can you tell me a little bit about Now Is Gone.
Geoff Livingston:
Now Is Gone it was written in the same vein. It's really meant to help people who are dipping their toe into social media. Basically its for that point where you figure out "my God I have to do something about this but I have no idea what to do". So you read this, its about a 2 hour plane ride, and you should be done. The goal is to provide principles not tactics. Again social media is much more than a blog. It's about social networks, its about communities, its about engaging brands and people. So as a result of that we really wanted to help people in general get some of the back principles and then they can go and figure out which tactics to engage in.
Li Evans:
Great!
Geoff Livingston:
She's quote in it! (pointing to Li Evans, then laughing with Li & Geoff)
Li Evans:
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. I'm Li Evans for Search Marketing Gurus and KeyRelevance from Blog Potomac, we'll be back with more interviews.

Thanks for coming, Li. I think people were excited by the camera, and to see you there. And t was good to see you again. Keep on rocking!
