Business Tips for Twitter Video Transcript
This week we are going to cover a little bit more about Twitter. We're going to take a look at how businesses can actually use Twitter and use those tips to make your profile and whatever you are doing on Twitter a bit more valuable to your online marketing efforts.
Use Your Business Name for Your Twitter Profile
The first thing we're going to take a look at is how you secure your name on Twitter. You want to make sure that you secure a name that is relevant to your business name. You want to make sure that happened to Delta Airlines doesn't happens to you where Delta Airlines and an employee for Delta Airlines is actually running the Delta Airlines Twitter account. So if you are even thinking of venturing into the world of Twitter at least register your profile name that represents your business name.
Business Website or Blog URL in Your Twitter Profile
The next thing we want to cover underneath this business aspect is that you have your URL of your company's website or your blog in your profile, so that people can actually click on it to check who you are. And believe me they do click on this URL link to find out what you are all about.
Connect Your Blog or Feeds in Twitter with TwitterFeed
The next tip I have for you in the Tuesday's Tips in Online Marketing with Twitter & Business is that you want to tie your RSS feed in with your Twitter Account. So if you have an RSS Feed for your blog or an RSS feed that promotes something special you can actually tie this into your Twitter account with a service called TwitterFeed. This will allow you to not even be on Twitter and actually post something to your Twitter account for your followers to click on and see. Woot uses this very well. If you go to Woot. com you can actually see that whatever they are putting out as a special for that day actually appears on their Twitter account every night at midnight whenever they post their special RSS feed. Many bloggers also use this to actually post out their blog posts and promote their blogs this way.
Track Your URLS You Tweet on Twitter with Tweetburner
The next thing I wanted to highlight is that you want to be able to track the URLs that you are posting within your tweets that you are talking to your audience with. A great service to track you URLs in Twitter is called TweetBurner. If you use this you can track how many times people are clicking on the URL that you placed within Twitter.
Tell People About Your Twitter Account
The last thing is that you want to actually tell people you have a TWitter account and make friends on Twitter. The only way you are going to be successful and gain audience memebers and actually get people in conversation with you is if you tell them you have a Twitter account. So don't be shy, put it on your email on the bottom in your signature. Put it on your website, say hey follow me on TWitter. This will help you gain an audience and actually start a conversation where you can learn things about your business.
And that's our tips for today for how businesses can use Twitter to their advantage.
