Hi I'm Li Evans of Search Marketing Gurus and KeyRelevance and I'm here at SES Toronto with Amanda Watlington. How are you doing today?
Amanda Watlington:
I am terrific Li.
Liana Evans:
So what do you think about this conference so far?
Amanda Watlington:
I absolutely love Search Engine Strategies Toronto. It just has a different flavor and a different flare than any other Search Engine Strategies conferences. Each one has its own separate sort of vibe, and the vibe here is always one of energy and interest. I find the whole Toronto scene very open and very friendly. I learn a lot always.
Liana Evans:
What are you speaking at here at Toronto?
Amanda Watlington:
Interestingly enough I'm speaking on myths, scams and other such ugliness in search. I'm actually going to be addressing the whole notion of what are some of the search marketing scams. I think that its been fun to watch them. I'm going to be talking about some that are old and some of them that are new, it's tomorrow.
Liana Evans:
Can you give us just a little taste of one?
Amanda Watlington:
Sure it's the one that we've probably all seen.
"I visited your website and noticed that its not listed in any of the search engines, I can take care of this for you"
I've seen these several languages.
Liana Evans:
So that's definitely one scam that everyone needs to look out for.
Tell me what do you do in your day job?
Amanda Watlington:
My day job, is that I'm the owner of a search marketing firm called Searching for Profit. Searching for Profit is a boutique type search marketing firm that essentially focuses on the intersection of search. With all of the, I call them, New Media. But rather universal search is what I'm really about. All of the images, video, audio and how to optimize it and how to make all of these digital asests work for you.
