Fun Photo Fridays: Mark Condell & Liana Frey Enjoying the Fun at Big Fish During WOMM-U

I am a few days late with the weekly picture, life it seems, gets the better of me and time just slips by.

However, I do have a picture this week and it features some brand new friends I met at WOMM-U.  In fact, one of my new friends has the exact same spelling as my first name - which, trust me, is rare!  It was one of my goals to meet Liana Frey of Dell, when I went to WOMM-U.  I wasn't disappointed in any way, she's sweet, gracious and fun!  I envy her - getting work on Dell's marketing team with all the Social Media initiatives they are putting in place is just awesome!

I also got the pleasure to meet Mark Condell, from the marketing side of Virgin Mobile.  He tolerated my questions about Sir Richard with such grace and a great smile, and we had a great time while networking at the event at Big Fish in Miami.  Later after the 2nd networking event down in South Beach he ventured with Simon and I up to the beach and watched as I acted like a kid in the waves.

Fun Photo Fridays: Cindy Krum Doing a Tea Trick at SES Denver Training

At the beginning of this week, I had the pleasure of doing the Social Media training in Denver for Search Engine Strategies Training event there.  It was a lot of fun, and was also my first time in Denver.  Those of you who follow me on twitter, saw how I was shocked about how far off in the "boonies" the airport was!

While there, Denver local, Cindy Krum of Blue Moon Works, entertained a few of us.  The first night we met at the Blake Street Tavern - formally the Flying Dog Brewery.  For anyone going there, try the Scratch Ale, it's great!  Then, Tuesday night Cindy took us to Mataam Fez, a Moroccan restaurant that was just a great experience.  Cindy even did a tea trick for us - Cindy, not only are you brave, but you rock! :)

Fun Photo Fridays: SEO Rapper Chuck Lewis Performs the "PageRank" at Unleashed

Well I'm a day late today, with posting our Friday photo, but I think waiting for this post might be well worth it.  Not only do I have a fun photo, but I have a fun video too!

The folks who ran Search Engine Guide's Unleashed Small Business Marketing Conference treated the conference goers to a live performance on the night before the conference started.  Chuck "SEO Rapper" Lewis of PopLabs entertained the crowd with his newest rap entitled "Code Design".  Chuck also showed us a few of his own dance moves, which I captured here.  In this photo, Chuck's demonstrating the "Page Rank".

Fun Photo Fridays: Unleashed Fiesta of Fun with Rachel & Wayne!

At the beginning of this week, Search Engine Guide held their first ever marketing conference for small businesses (Unleashed Small Business Marketing Conference) in Houston, TX and wow was it awesome!  Kudos to Jennifer, Robert, Rachel and Vicki for putting on such a wonderful event!   If you haven't read the coverage of Unleashed, hop on over to SEG and check it out.

There was a lot of learning to be had at Unleashed as well as fun, including a networking event, silent auction and birthday cake for Jennifer & myself (thanks again!) the first night.  On Monday evening a really fun Fiesta was held that was sponsored by Search Influence (thanks guys!) and everyone there had a blast.  That's where I was able to snap this week's fun photo of Rachel Phillips of Search Engine Guide and Wayne Small of SBSfaq.

I'm dreaming of... a fun photo, one with an In -N- Out Burger hat!  Yes, its Friday and we're back with another "fun" photo.  I snapped this one I'm featuring this week at SMX West out in Santa Clara.  I was on my way to the elevators and there's Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land, Sphinn & SMX sportin' an In -N- Out Burger hat, and of course you know I couldn't resist capturing this moment.  I think he's dreaming of the "Animal Style" Burger, what do you think?

Fun Photo Fridays - Risa & Marty Enjoy the Charity Search Bash

Fun Fun Fun!  It's Friday and it's time for another Photo from the collection I have from all the different conferences.  With over a thousand to choose from, sometimes it's really tough.  The picture I chose for today though has actually been standing out in my mind for a few weeks, that I wanted to feature it.

This photo captures the fun that happened at the Charity Event put on by BoTW and IM-NY during the Search Engine Strategies conference that was held in New York City this past March.  There was a lot of fun to be had (even if you didn't win a Wii! *yes, I know Simon will smack me soon enough*), from hanging out with colleagues to posing with the life sized cardboard replica of Danny (who took that home by the way!?) there was a great time to be had.

Risa Borysykowsky of RB3 Web Design and Marty Weintraub of AimClear took such a great picture, I wanted to share it.  These two have such a genuine caring nature to begin with, it was only a given they'd be at the charity event.

Fun Photo Fridays - Teddie, Mel, Dean & Rob ... Just Hanging Out

Last week I totally slacked, and missed the photo for Friday, however I'm back this week (live from Dublin, Ireland) with this week's photo.  Search Marketing World 2008 was held yesterday (check out my conference coverage if your interested!), and I've got a bunch of photos from the networking event, the conference itself and then the fun we all had after the conference was over.

This week's fun photo is of Teddie Cowell, Mel Carson, Dean Chew & Rob "Evil Green Monkey" Kerry hanging out at Fitzimons located in the Temple Bar area, Dublin.  We all had a lot of fun hanging out, after attending the conference all day.

Fun Photo Fridays - Brandy Singing in Her Beautiful Red High Heels

This past week WebmasterRadio.FM held its infamous "SearchBash" at SES New York, down at the Spotlight in Times Square.  Let me tell you, that was FUN!  They had Karaoke with a live band that backed you up, so that was really neat to have -- especially when you are use to doing Karaoke with just the CD's (yes, I've become a Karaoke addict).

While we were there, Brandy Shapiro-Babin got up on stage and just wowed the crowd, especially in those gorgeous high heels (yes, I'm a shoe gal!).  She totally got into her performance and the crowd just loved her too!

Fun Photo Fridays - Team Handsome (Dave Davis & Dean Chew)

It's that time of the week, were I get to sort through all my pictures from the conferences, searching for one of these extraordinarily funny ones.  This Friday is no different of course, and I actually remembered this particular picture yesterday after watching a commercial that included a shot from the movie Zoolander. 

I took this picture of "Team Handsome" the last night of SES London, after the LondonSEO.org bash at the pub.  If you didn't know, "Team Handsome" consists of Dave Davis, of RedFly Marketing - an online marketing firm in Ireland, and Dean Chew of Ayima, a search marketing firm in London.  I honestly didn't name them "Team Handsome", these two handsome chaps came up with that name all on their own ... don't you just love marketers?

Fun Photo Fridays - Shoemoney the BackStreet Boy!

Well it's a Friday, and I'm actually at home here in Philly for a change, it's nice to be home.  For the next few weeks I'll be pulling pictures for our Fun Photo Fridays from the SMX West and SES London sets on Flickr.  With over 600 pictures to choose from it will be tough to choose, but I think I'll manage to capture some of the funnier moments!

This week's picture is from SMX West, taken at the Google Groove.  The "SEO Backstreet Boys" (that would include Niel Patel, Chris Winfield, Jon Kelly and Shoemoney) got up and sang some Backstreet Boys song from the 90's.  Please don't ask me which one it was, here's a shot of the words on the karaoke screen, those songs all sound the same to me.  What I did manage to catch was Shoemoney really getting into the whole act - Priceless!

So before I head back east I wanted to get a Fun Friday Photo up for all of your enjoyment!  I've got about 200 photos to upload yet, and I won't get to them until tomorrow, so I figured I'd treat you all to one of the 200 I need to upload.

I've enjoyed a great time at SMX West, I got to meet a lot of new people and sat in on some great sessions.  I'll be writing a recap of my experiences over the weekend too, since I did not live blog this conference.  So for now, I hope you'll enjoy this rather funny photo of Gab and Greg.  Seems someone finally caught up to Boser and "arrested" him for ... well we all know!

Fun Photo Fridays - Kristjan & Nick, Two Great New Friends

Well it's Sunday and I'm posting the Fun Photo Fridays Photo.  Flying across the Atlantic Ocean back to Philadelphia sort of put a damper on the uploading of the photo for Friday.  I finally got them all uploaded and tagged in Flickr early this afternoon, so now I can share the Fun Photo for the week.

This week's Photo is of Kristjan Mar Hauksson of Nordic eMarketing  from Iceland, and Nick Wilsdon of E3Internet based in Russia.  Kristjan is quite a tall guy, as is Nick, but in this picture, Kristjan's playing around, certainly helping Nick to feel a lot taller!

The past two Friday's slipped right buy me with all this travel.  However, as always I didn't forget it!  I actually wanted to wait for some shots from London to use for the fun photo this week, so without further delay, here is this week's photo from our travels around London here at SES London 2008. 

This picture is of Kevin Newcomb, Jackie Orteze, Marilyn Crafts & Stewart Quealy in front of Big Ben, Parliament and one of those famous "Dr. Who" "Harry Potter" Telephone Booths.  (Editor's Note:  Simon Heseltine has since corrected me that the Dr. Who phone booths are blue.  So, I'll now call it the Harry Potter Phone Booth)

Fun Photo Fridays on a Monday Afternoon

Due to travel, I totally missed the Fun Friday Photo.  However, that doesn't mean I don't have one!  This week's photo is from Search Engine Strategies Training event in San Francisco this past Thursday (February 7th).

This week's photo is of Debra Mastaler of Alliance-Link & The Link Spiel and Stewart Quealy of Search Engine Strategies.  A few of us decided to ride the Trolley Car down to Fisherman's Wharf and grab dinner and then find some chocolate to feed that sweet tooth, unfortunately the Ghirardelli shop was closed.  We did have a great time, and great food after a long day of training!

People and companies have called this "Best.Photo.Ever." 

I don't know if it's the best photo I've ever taken, but it's probably one of the funniest.  Still, that doesn't even garner SMG a link in the BOTW blog directory (*sniff sniff*, I still don't feel the love guys!).  :(

I'm a little late tonight with our Fun Photo for Friday, but we still have it! This week the feature photo is from SES Local that was held back at the end of November in Los Angeles, California.  It was a lot of fun, even though some of us would like 45 minutes from that trip back. :)

Today's picture is of 2 of the 3 Kevins that help make up the Search Engine Strategies/Search Engine Watch team - Kevin Heisler and Kevin Newcomb and the very animated Sage Lewis of SageRock.com.  I caught these guys conversing right before Kevin Newcomb took the stage to kick off the event.  It was Kevin's first time being a moderator and he did a great job, you'd think he'd been at it for years!

Fun Photo Fridays - Becky Ryan & Lindsey Alexander

With all the photos I take, I figured it might be fun each week to highlight and share one a week.   So each week on Friday, we'll have a photo here at Search Marketing Gurus, some how related to the search industry.

At the end of the year, we'll put them up as a gallery and maybe even ask folks to vote on which one they think is the best.

So to kick things off, we have a picture I took of Becky Ryan of Trellian while a group of us enjoyed some great Blues music at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago this past December.  Let me tell you, after a long day of flights, delays, and aggravation to get to Chicago SES, it was a welcome bit of fun to hear Lindsey Alexander play.  The man is extremely talented and interacts with the crowd in an amazing way.  In the picture featured here, Lindsey came down to our table and wrapped one arm around Becky and played a song - how cool is that?
