PPC expert, Matt Van Wagner of Find Me Faster, discusses a bit about his PPC 101 session at SES Toronto with Liana Evans of SearchMarketingGurus.com. Matt also gives a little preview of the session he's moderating, SEO Myths, Scams and Don'ts.

Liana Evans:
Hi I'm Li Evans of Search Marketing Gurus and Key Relevance and I'm here at SES Toronto with Matt Van Wagner. Hi Matt, how are you?
Matt Van Wagner:
Hey Liana, good!
Liana Evans:
What are you looking forward to this year at SES Toronto?
Matt Van Wagner:
Well, you know, I'm actually looking forward to the same thing I was looking forward to last year, which was introducing a lot of new Canadian firms to paid search and how to do it.
Liana Evans:
That's great. I think that it's really a growing area, especially with the Google / Yahoo deal. Do you got any opinion on that?
Matt Van Wagner:
I do have an opinion but things are always changing in this market place. Actually that the advantage that people who've just come into the space have over the people like who have been doing it for years. We're stuck with our old biases they get to learn what's really happening now. So they have an advantage over us.
Liana Evans:
That's true.
Tell me about the panels you are actually speaking on.
Matt Van Wagner:
I'm going to be doing Paid Search 101. Basically we're going to do a 20,000 foot view level of paid search and how to get started. What's a keyword, what's an ad, what's a search engine, all the stuff you need to know to really get your brain around what paid search really is. Then I get to moderate a panel after that with three very well respected search folks. The panel is dispelling all the myths and don'ts and all the wrong knowledge that's out there. So they're going to be dispelling myths.
Liana Evans:
SEO and PPC?
Matt Van Wagner:
I think the focus is on SEO, Email and Links, but I don't think they are going into PPC. But if they do, I'll field the question.
Liana Evans:
So tell me about what you do during your day job
Matt Van Wagner:
I eat, sleep, and breathe ... well actually I don't sleep much, but I eat, breathe Paid Search.
Liana Evans:
